Alcon AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlyde Monthly Contact Lenses

AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlyde is Alcon’s monthly silicone hydrogel contact lens collection. It uses lotrafilcon B together with SmartShield Technology and the HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix. Standard spherical, toric and multifocal options are available.

Monthly lenses are not intended to be worn continuously for 30 days. They require cleaning, disinfection and storage after removal, with replacement dates calculated according to the product instructions and professional advice. Suitable wearing time and adaptation vary between users.

SmartShield and HydraGlyde Technologies

Lotrafilcon B: The silicone hydrogel material used by AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlyde.
SmartShield: A lens-surface technology intended to reduce the attachment of certain deposits, including lipids.
HydraGlyde Moisture Matrix: A technology intended to support lens-surface wettability.
Monthly replacement: Replace according to the prescribed schedule and complete the required cleaning and disinfection after removal.

These are manufacturer descriptions of the lens material and technologies. They do not mean the lenses treat dry eye, completely prevent deposits or guarantee identical comfort for every wearer.

AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlyde for Astigmatism

The toric version uses the PRECISION BALANCE 8|4 lens design to support lens orientation for astigmatic prescriptions. Confirm the prescribed SPH, CYL and AXIS values, including any difference between the right and left eyes.

AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlyde Multifocal

The multifocal version incorporates the PRECISION PROFILE optical design to support near, intermediate and distance vision requirements. Confirm the distance power and prescribed ADD. New multifocal lenses may require an adaptation period.

AIR OPTIX vs TOTAL30

AIR OPTIX plus HydraGlyde uses lotrafilcon B with SmartShield and HydraGlyde technologies. TOTAL30 uses lehfilcon A with Water Gradient technology. Both are Alcon monthly collections, but their materials, surface technologies and available prescription options differ.

Monthly Lens Care

Wash and dry your hands before handling the lenses.
Use care solution intended for soft contact lenses; never use tap water to rinse or store lenses.
Clean, rinse, disinfect and store the lenses according to the solution instructions after removal.
Do not sleep in the lenses or extend the replacement schedule unless specifically prescribed by an eye-care professional.

Prescription notice: New wearers, customers changing brands and those requiring toric or multifocal correction should receive an eye examination and contact lens fitting. Do not wear damaged or expired lenses. Discontinue wear and seek professional advice if persistent blur, redness, pain or discomfort occurs.
